내용 구성
■ STEP 1 : Objectives & Warm Up
학습 목표를 명확히 하고 Warm Up을 통해 주제와 관련된 대화를 연습할 수 있도록 합니다.
This first step tells you clearly what you will learn in the Unit. By having a clear idea of the goals of the unit, you will be able to better focus on the skills being taught. This is followed by a pair work speaking activity in which you chat in a relaxed way with your partner in response to the questions given in the book and which are somehow related to the theme of the unit and its objectives.
■ STEP 2 : Vocabulary
유닛별 회화에 등장하는 새로운 단어와 표현을 배우고 예문 빈칸 채우기를 통해 사용법을 익힙니다.
In this step you will learn new vocabulary and expressions that will be seen in the dialogue and be given a definition of each followed by an example sentence to show how it is used. This step helps you to be more prepared to understand the dialogue.
■ STEP 3 : Dialogue
비즈니스 상황의 회화문을 눈으로 읽고 원어민 MP3를 들어봅니다. 자연스러운 회화 구사가 가능해집니다.
In this step you will read or listen to a dialogue about daily life in which the grammatical pattern or function is explored. This gives you the opportunity to start seeing how the grammar or function is used in a practical situation. In addition, you will learn new vocabulary and expressions that will help to further develop your communicative ability.
■ STEP 4 : Comprehension Check
문제풀이를 통해 회화문의 내용을 정확히 이해했는지 알아봅니다.
This step will help you to check and develop your understanding of the dialogue by answering questions, either in speaking or in writing, about the contents of the dialogue.
■ STEP 5 : Useful Expressions
회화문에 사용된 실용적인 표현을 배우고, 예문을 통해 올바른 사용법을 익힙니다.
In this step you will learn new and very useful expressions and be given a definition of each followed by an example sentence to show how it is correctly used.
■ STEP 6 : Grammar
문법 구조와 용법을 명확하게 설명하고, 문제풀이를 통해 이해도를 테스트합니다.
In this step you will be given a clear explanation of the formation of the grammatical structure and its usage. You will be able to see how to form this grammatical or functional point, and its exact usage. You will then be given questions to practice speaking using this new grammatical or functional point.
■ STEP 7 : Exercise
빈칸 채우기를 통해 문법 학습을 한번 더 테스트합니다.
This step aims to consolidate your knowledge of the grammar point by asking you to fill in the blanks of the given exercises with the correct forms based on the study points in the Unit.
■ STEP 8 : Speaking Activity 1
파트너 또는 그룹원과 함께 학습한 문법과 표현을 사용해 말하기 연습을 합니다.
In this step you will work with a partner or subgroup to develop your speaking skills by answering questions given in the book. The questions are designed to prompt you to use the correct forms of the points being studied in the Unit.
■ STEP 9 : Speaking Activity 2
학습한 내용을 실생활에 적용하여 말하는 연습을 합니다.
In this step you will be given a speaking activity to do with your partner or subgroup in which you can demonstrate your understanding of the Unit's Objectives and apply them in an open activity. In this step the teacher can see how well you have acquired the new objectives. It is also a time for you to feel proud of your progress.
■ STEP 10 : Wrap Up & Guess What?
학습한 내용을 정리하고 발음 팁과 자주 틀리는 단어를 익힐 수 있습니다.
마지막으로, 퀴즈를 통해 학습을 마무리합니다.
In this step there will be a reminder of when and how to use the grammatical point or function, and some advice on how to improve your speaking such as a pronunciation tip or a warning about a misused word etc. Finally, to finish off the unit on a fun note, there will be a 'Guess What?' question to see if you know the answer to some interesting facts about English or the culture. We hope that this will incite an interesting and fun discussion to finish off the Unit.
