"이 책은 두 가지로 활용이 가능합니다. 먼저 초등교육과정의 이론과 실제의 방대한 내용을 공부해오던 수험생들이 자신의 공부 내용을 갈무리하면서 시험에 나올 수 있는 키워드를 일목요연하게 정리해야 하는 시기에 보조 자료로서 역할을 할 수 있습니다. 우리가 보는 초등교육과정의 내용이 거의 줄글로 이루어져 있고, 수업의 실제에 대한 내용을 공부할 때 사용하는 지도서에는 부수적이고 주변적인 내용들이 많이 섞여 있어서 이를 제거해가며 공부하려면 시간이 너무 소비되기 때문에 시험을 바로 앞두고 정리할 때는 효율적이지 않습니다. 이 때는 자신이 그동안 공부하면서 만들어온 내용 요약이나 정리 노트 등을 활용하는 것이 가장 좋지만, 그런 자료를 만들지 못한 학생들은 지금 그런 자료를 만들기보다는 이 마인드맵의 내용을 토대로 시간을 효율적으로 사용하는 것이 효과적일 것입니다.
또한 이 책은 개인적인 사정으로 그동안 공부에 시간을 충실하게 투자하지 못했던 학생들에게 막판개념 정리를 짧은 시간에 끝내는 데에 도움을 주는 자료로서 역할을 할 수 있습니다. 초등임용시험의 경쟁률은 몇 년 동안 낮은 상태로 선발 인원이 많았고, 올해도 예비 고시된 인원이 적절한 수준이라서 조금만 노력을 기울인다면 교사의 꿈을 이루는 것이 그리 어렵지는 않습니다. 이러한 상황에서 그동안 공부하지 못했던 학생들이 방대한 초등교육과정의 내용을 그대로 공부하는 것은 시험의 성격을 잘 파악하지 못한 비효율적인 방법입니다. 임용시험의 문제 유형은 개념어인 명사 키워드 기입형이나, 수식어의 대구?대조 비교 서술형 문제가 대부분입니다.

이 책이 의도하는 취지로 인해 일부 과목의 부분적인 내용은 빠져 있습니다. 예를 들어 과학의 각론내용은 이해에 기초하지 않으면 키워드 자체가 의미 없는 경우가 많아서 포함하지 않았습니다. 따라서 자신의 현재 상황에 맞추어 이러한 부분의 내용을 스스로 정리하며 시험에 대비한다면 시험에서 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있을 것입니다.
